After a market survey, it was discovered that there was market demand for an application that provides the functionality of editing images before converting them to another format. It was also noticed that a user-friendly interface with easy to use functionality was essential to the end user. Products that provide this kind of functionality were selling well in market even though they did not have a user-friendly interface and lacked many features. This survey triggered the making of the Image editing and conversion application called Smart ImageConverter.

The products that were available in the market had their own limitations. They did not allow image conversions to many formats. Also, the image quality deteriorated after conversion. We decided to develop an image editing and format conversion application that would aim at supporting maximum features, more image formats, and maintain the quality of images after conversion. Providing all this in one application was a little tough.
Image editing and conversion facility is available in many popular software but they are expensive. So another goal was to develop the application using affordable tools to make it available to the user at a low price. Smart ImageConvertor also has command line support and can be easily integrated into existing software codes. Also, through Smart ImageConverter, you can also convert images to formats like TIFF, BMP, GIF, PNG, AVS, MPEG, JPEG, OTB and TXT among others.

Netsmartz Application Development team accomplished the task of developing this application quite successfully. The result of their effort was a stand-alone image editing and conversion application that allows one to edit images speedily, apply effects, make corrections, and then have the option to save it in the same format or convert it into other format. This can be done either manually or as part of the automated batch conversion process.
The following modules are the inherent part of Smart ImageConverter:
SINGLE FILE CONVERSION
Allows end user to convert any given image file in the list of formats to any other given format.
BATCH CONVERSION
This module allows the end user to convert multiple image files which can be of same or different image formats to a different image format at one go.
IMAGE EFFECTS
This module allows the end user to apply various effects on the source image file like increase or reduce the color in image, increase or reduce brightness and contrast, normalize the image, set gamma or charcoal properties to the image. The end user additionally can also crop, rotate, flip, mirror, or resize the image.
FILE ASSOCIATION
This module gives the functionality on users system which associates any given image file with the Smart ImageConverter utility so that end users can directly double click and open an image in this product.
PREVIEW/THUMBNAIL
This module gives user the functionality to preview the image in a thumbnail format so that user can view the original image and the changes applied to it at one time.
HELP
An extensive help has been provided to work on Smart ImageConverter explaining each module in detail. |
